The Visible Artist

The reason people scroll past your Instagram posts…

  • the heartfelt reel of you singing
  • your demo reel clip
  • the “catch me on the next episode of…” for a show you’re not even sure your followers are watching (unless it’s Game of Thrones)

…has nothing to do with your talent.

60 Instagram hooks for your reels and captions, plus 6 short audio lessons, to make your art, your work and your life as interesting as it actually is.

Your reels feel like self-tapes going into the void.

You film it. You post it. You check your views eleven times. 212 views

Welcome to 200-view jail. It's about as fun as slating.

It's a different era

Actors get cast from Instagram now.

Your work can travel further than your team can pitch it. You never know where the Instagram algorithm will take a reel. It isn’t against you. It just can’t push a reel nobody stops for. More views bring more followers, and it all starts in the first three seconds.

The shift

Same caption. Different spotlight.

Instead ofI'm so excited to announce I've joined the cast of…All about you and your announcement.
TryChristmas movie junkies, this one's for you.All about them and what they want to watch.

That's the whole shift. The Visible Artist shows you how to make it, sixty different ways.

You're not an influencer

You don't want to be one, either.

You're an actor who wants people to know you're working, you're available, and here's what you've made.

Why I made this

I spent a lot of time playing catch up.

When I started out, posting your audition tape online was a big no-no. And the clips from shows you actually booked? Not yours to share. The networks had all the footage. So we did what actors were trained to do. We did the work, and we kept quiet about it.

Then the rules flipped. Suddenly everyone was posting, and I had 25 years of work and no idea how to say any of it in three seconds.

I'll be real with you. I'm still finding my voice. I refine it all the time. But when my actor friends and I kept saying the exact same thing to each other, I decided to stop wondering and start figuring it out.

So I posted. Consistently. Inconsistently. Then consistently again. And I paid attention.

Here's what I found. The message in you isn't missing. It's getting lost in the first three seconds. The hook. The caption. One small line standing between you and the people who are meant to hear you.

So let's fix that.

A taste of the hooks

Fill in the blank. Hit record.

Nobody tells you what it's actually like when you (book your first series regular / wrap a show / ___). So let me.

55

This is the part of the job nobody films. (The drive home after the audition / the long exhale before action / ___).

What's inside

  • 60 fill-in-the-blank Instagram hooks in six kinds. Announcement, Perspective, Testimonial, Can You Relate, Inspiration and Invitation.
  • Use them anywhere. Reels, carousels, stories, captions and the text you put on screen.
  • A simple posting schedule that fits your actual life, so you never wonder what to post and one post stops eating your whole afternoon.
  • Three stages, so you start where you actually are. The Beginner, the Builder and the Artist.
  • 6 short audio lessons to listen to on the way to set.
  • Bonus prompts for the AI curious. AI isn't for everyone, and that's fair. If you're curious, use it like a scene partner, not a ghostwriter. Your story, your voice, your call.
  • Printable workbook in colour and in black-and-white.

This is for you if

  • You overthink every Instagram post, then don't post.
  • You spend hours scripting, filming and editing a reel, and then it sits in your drafts.
  • You never know what to post, so you post nothing.
  • You want to show up on Instagram consistently but have no idea how.
  • You're stuck in 200-view jail.
  • You want more views and more followers, without the cringe.
  • You share your play or your guest spot and hear crickets.

This isn't for you if

  • You already know what to post and Instagram comes easy.
  • You're hoping Instagram will make you an actor.
  • You want to go viral by Friday.
  • You want to buy followers.
  • You want someone else to post for you.

You don't need to be an influencer. You just need to share your perspective.

If this is you, here's your next step.
